I am about to embark on the biggest adventure of my life. In a mere six weeks, Jason and I will be Las Vegas residents. It is terrifying yet exciting all at the same time. I have lived in Sacramento since January of 1989 when we moved from Fresno. I have always been a homebody and I enjoy the familiar. I went to college in Stockton and came back home after grad school. The idea of leaving Sacramento never crossed my mind. But, when Jason told me that he had a job possibility in Vegas, I was supportive from the very beginning.
That being said, the idea of being somewhere new and unknown is really scary. I'll need to find a new doctor, dentist, eye brow waxer, running routes, friends, etc. I'll be okay though. Jason and I will do this together and I am certain that our relationship will grow stronger as we navigate a new city together.
I often have to pinch myself and ask "is this really happening?" A year ago if you had told me that I would be moving to Las Vegas with my boyfriend, I would have looked at you like you were nuts. For some reason, this feels right. Jason and I have been together for almost a year yet it seems like I have known him forever. He definitely has changed my life.
There are so many things to do before we leave.
1. Packing and sorting through stuff
2. Getting rid of Jason's wire hangers... I hate those damn things
3. Sending in the paperwork for teaching in Clark County School District
4. Follow through with the Safeway transfer
5. Renting out our house...
6. Finding a moving company
7. See as many friends and family before we leave town.
